| 7. THE
NORTH TRANSEPT The north transept is two bays deep. Its fine window of six lights has a wheel in the tracery that seems to be in motion. At the centre of the wheel is a dove, the Holy Spirit at the centre of God’s creative power. Below are eighteen scenes from the Old Testament. The glass was made by Hardman of Birmingham, and is in memory of the great industrialist, exporter and man of compassion, Thomas Sutcliffe Mort. |
